WFC makes $4.5 million payment

The Winnipeg Football Club today announced it has made a $4.5 million payment to Triple B Stadium Inc.

“We would like to thank our fans and community for supporting the Winnipeg Football Club,” said Wade Miller, President and CEO of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.  “We are encouraged by the tremendous support of our fans and Season Ticket Members along with our corporate partners.”

Miller said the WFC was able to meet its financial targets by drawing on business operations as a major source of revenue.  Financially, 2015 was a very successful year in large part thanks to hosting the 103rd Grey Cup and the FIFA Women’s World Cup. This was in addition to hosting two major concerts performed by One Direction and AC/DC.

The payment is made up of entertainment tax, facility fees, and excess cash as defined by the Management Agreement between the WFC and Triple B Stadium Inc.

Investors Group Field is the home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the University of Manitoba Bisons and the Winnipeg Rifles, and plays host to many major sporting and entertainment events, as well as amateur sporting events.
