About the Award
The Samantha Mason Friendship Award was created by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in memory of Samantha Mason, who was a victim of bullying at her school in Winnipeg. This award recognizes young people who have demonstrated leadership in preventing bullying and promoting kindness in their schools and communities.
Do you know an impactful youth leader who has taken action in their school or community to eliminate bullying? Nominate them for the Samantha Mason Friendship Award to recognize their efforts in creating positive change.
Award Criteria
Nominees should demonstrate commitment to the core values of the Canadian Centre for Child Protection/Blue Bombers Kindness Pledge:
- I have the power to make a difference. I will not be a bully or a bystander.
- I can help change the way others are treated in my school, my community and online.
- Everyone is worthy of friendship, support and respect, therefore, I will choose to share kindness and hope instead of hate and hurt.
- I have the power to change the story from hate to hope.
The selected nominees will be presented with the award at a Blue Bombers home game in 2025. Please note that nominees must be available to attend the Blue Bombers game if selected as a recipient.
