Current Programs

Blue and Gold Showcase

The 2024 Blue & Gold Showcase will feature over 200 top football athletes throughout the Province. Working with local and rural high school coaches, we have created two U16 and two U18 all-star teams comprised of over 50 athletes per team. Players invited to the Showcase will attend eight practices over two weeks before competing in a game at the East Side Eagles Football Field on Sunday, May 5th. There is no charge to players for this annual program, which reduces financial barriers to ensure we have the Province’s top talent in attendance.

TryFootball Program

The Blue Bombers High School Girls Flag Football League is an action-packed six-week league designed to empower high school girls with exciting gameplay, skill development, and a sense of teamwork. Dive into the thrill of flag football and make unforgettable memories while honing your athletic abilities. Sign up now for our Inaugural Season!

TryFootball Program

#TryFootball is a free 4-week program for boys and girls ages 9-13, held in 2024 from February 25th to March 17th. The goal is to encourage youth to try football through a variety of skills and drills in a safe and fun environment.

W Football Academy - U12 & U14

The W Football Academy (U12 & U14) was a free program for youth football players who wanted to develop their football skills, knowledge, and conditioning in the off-season. Players developed fundamental skills and grew their football IQ while increasing their resilience, discipline, and perseverance both on and off the field. The W Football Academy (U12 & U14) was split into two phases that focused on different skills and fundamentals. Phase 1 offered a non-contact approach to football and Phase 2 introduced the use of football Helmets and Shoulder Pads to practices.

W Football Academy - High School

The W Football Academy (High School) was a free program for High School football players who wanted to develop their football skills, knowledge, and conditioning in the off-season. GirlsPlayFootball Program

The #GirlsPlayFootball was a free 5-session program for girls aged 9-13 held from January 7th to February 4th, 2024. The goal from this program is to encourage girls to try football through a variety of skills and drills in a safe and fun environment.
Registration for this program will open in Fall 2024.

Blue Bombers Kick-off

The Blue Bombers Kick-Off Program was a 4-session program held from November 26 to December 17, 2023. This free, non-contact program was designed for children ages 4-8, with the primary focus to get children active and engaged in football.

Blue Bombers Futures Kick-off

Launched in 2018, the Blue Bombers Futures Kick-Off Program is designed for children ages 4-8 and is based on Football Canada’s First Down Program. This free non-contact program was held on May 13 & 27, 2023. The primary focus is to get kids active and engaged in football by learning the basics of the game.

Registration for this program will open in Spring 2024.

Jr. Blue Bombers Football Skills Camp

The Jr. Bombers Football Skills Camp was held from May 10-11, 2023. This free camp gave kids ages 9-14 a chance to develop their football skills. The camp is free and held at IG Field annually in April. The goal is this camp is to introduce kids to football through drills and skill-specific training challenges so they can improve their fitness and knowledge of the game in a safe and fun environment.

Registration for this program will open in Winter 2024.

Winnipeg Youth Football Club Flag Football

The Winnipeg Youth Football Club was an after-school flag football program and an extension of the Inner-City Youth Football League delivered in partnership with Sport Manitoba, University of Winnipeg, and Spence Neighbourhood Association. Over 150 kids participated in this free program held once a week for 8 weeks. Kids were provided with transportation to and from the sessions, as well as meals and t-shirts.


YOUTH TACKLE

Virtual Football Coaches Clinic

In football, a huddle is an action of a team gathering together, usually in a tight circle to strategize, motivate or celebrate. It’s time we get back to this, so we are taking the huddle virtual for amateur football coaches to connect with Winnipeg Blue Bomber Coaches for the opportunity to learn, tell stories, motivate and celebrate the great game of football.

Youth Football presented by BellMTS

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Bell MTS are committed to making youth tackle football more accessible by supporting families who may require financial assistance. All 13 clubs affiliated with the Manitoba Minor Football Association (MMFA) will benefit from a grant program funded by Bell MTS to cover registration fees associated with their tackle football program.
Youth must be between the ages of 8-16 years old and must be enrolled in school. Registration for this grant program is now open. Please contact community@bluebombers.com to apply.

Youth Football Coach of the Week

The Blue Bombers want you to join us in honouring youth football coaches (tackle) through our Bud Grant Coach of the Week Program. The goal of this program is to give youth football coaches the recognition they deserve while promoting the development of youth football throughout the province. The Blue Bombers will select several coaches during the 2023 football season. Each winning coach will receive a Bombers gift pack, a commemorative game ball, and be honoured during a Bombers regular season home game.

2024 WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS RURAL FOOTBALL SUMMIT

On February 3rd, 2024, the Winnipeg Football Club held an impactful Rural Football Summit in Brandon, Manitoba. President & CEO Wade Miller, along with the WFC’s Community Relations Team and Blue Bombers player Pat Neufeld, were present to engage in discussions on ways the club can contribute towards the growth of football in rural areas of the province. Attendees actively participated in round table discussions centered around topics of interest. The summit served as a valuable platform to generate ideas, share insights in order to further strengthen the game of football in rural communities.

Game of the Week

The 2023 Winnipeg Blue Bombers High School Game of the Week program runs from September 3rd to October 21st and provides teams with an opportunity to get some exposure and grant money for their programs. The selected game of the week is promoted through Blue Bombers social media channels, with the winning team of each game receiving a $1,500 grant and the losing team receiving a $500 grant to go toward their football programs.
