Tailgate Area Activities Start at 12:00 PM and end at 7:00 PM
Mainstage Performances: 3:00 PM-10:30 PM
Family Friendly Activities end at 7:00 PM

Tailgate Kickoff Party
Join us early in the tailgate area for a celebration filled with live music from local bands, a variety of food trucks serving up Canadian favourites, and family-friendly activities.
 

Event Highlights

Mainstage Performances:
The mainstage inside the stadium lights up at 3:00 PM with more live local music including Brandi Vezina, Neighbour Andy, Catie St. Germain and Indian City ahead of our headliner Sam Roberts Band with Special Guest Doc Walker.

To access the mainstage, you will require a free ticket for entry. Tickets for the mainstage are now sold out.

 

Cultural and Family Activities:
A wide range of activities including a local market, kids’ activities, and a tailgate stage. Food vendors include Beavertails, Just Loaded Food Truck, Blue Truck Smokies, Walleye Wagon, Tot Wheels and more.
 

Family-friendly Entertainment:
Face painting, storytelling, inflatables, and other activities designed for families. Fireworks will light up the city skyline at dusk.
 

Admission:
The event is free. If you are able, we ask that you bring a non-perishable food item for Harvest Manitoba. No Ticket is required for access to the tailgate celebration from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Mainstage tickets are free and can be secured at bluebombers.com/CanadaDay.
 

Parking and Transportation:
Parking is free around the stadium based on availability and Winnipeg Transit will release the schedule for transportation two weeks prior to Canada Day. We encourage those that are able to walk or bike to the stadium. Bike valet will be available.

Frequently Asked Questions

IS PARKING FREE?
Yes, parking is free at the University. It’s the same lots used on Blue Bombers game days. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis.

WILL THE BIKE VALET BE OPEN?
Yes, the bike valet will be operational for the entire event.

ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS TO WHAT I CAN BRING INTO THE STADIUM?
Yes, patrons and bags will be screened. Regular Princess Auto Stadium policies will be in effect. For a full list of policies, please review the Princess Auto Stadium Policies.

WILL PARK AND RIDE BE AVAILABLE?
There will not be park and ride for the Canada Day Celebration. However, Winnipeg Transit will release the transportation schedule two weeks prior to Canada Day. We encourage those who are able to walk or bike to the stadium.

WILL MY YOUNG CHILD NEED A TICKET?
Children under the age of 2 do not require a ticket.

CAN I BRING MY DOG?
While we do love pets, for the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, we kindly ask that pets do not attend this event. However, service animals are welcome.

CAN I BRING IN MY OWN FOOD AND DRINK?
Outside food and beverage will not be permitted; however, one sealed bottle of water up to 1 litre will be permitted. Water refill stations will be available.

WHERE WILL I SIT FOR THE EVENT?
This is a general admission event, so you can sit in any designated area that is open to the public. We kindly ask that you avoid leaving empty seats between you and your neighbour to make room for everyone. There will be standing room available on the concourse. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

CAN I GO DOWN ON THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF THE STAGE?
Only those with designated tickets and wristbands are permitted down on floor level. This is not a general admission area.

WILL THERE BE FIREWORKS?
Yes, the evening will end with a pyro and firework display that will begin at approximately 10:30 PM.

IS THE CANADA DAY CELEBRATION AT THE STADIUM ACCESSIBLE FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES?
Yes, the stadium will be accessible to individuals with disabilities. If you require specific accommodations, please contact fan services in advance to discuss necessary arrangements.

IS THERE A RAIN PLAN IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER DURING THE CELEBRATION?
In the event of inclement weather, the Canada Day Celebration may be modified or adjusted as required. Please keep an eye on our social media channels for any weather-related updates/changes if applicable.

WILL THERE BE ALCOHOL FOR SALE AT THE EVENT?
Yes, alcohol will be available for purchase for those 18+ at the event.

ARE THERE DESIGNATED SMOKING AREAS WITHIN THE STADIUM PREMISES FOR THE CANADA DAY CELEBRATION?
Yes, there will be one designated smoking area in the tailgate area and one outside between gate 3 and gate 4.
