Winnipeg Football Club Announces Changes to Board of Directors

The Winnipeg Football Club Board of Directors is pleased to announce the election of Sheree Walder, the re-election of Frank Robinson and Garth Waddell, and thanks Barb Gamey for her years of service with the Winnipeg Football Club’s Board of Directors.

Walder has been elected to the Winnipeg Football Club’s Board of Directors effective January 1, 2024 and was chosen through the open public nomination process first initiated by the Club in March 2013. The number of new directors elected from the community at large has now grown to twenty-one.

Sheree Walder recently retired from her family law practice after almost 40 years, most recently with Myers LLP where she had been a partner since 2004. She continues to practice law as a consultant through her law corporation. Prior to her legal career, Walder worked as a sports reporter in radio and print media. Walder graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a Bachelor of Law degree. She has been actively involved in the community, including currently as a board member of the Assiniboine Park Conservancy, a council member of the University of Manitoba President’s Advisory Council, and a hearing panel member with the Adults Living with the Intellectual Disability Commission. Walder and her husband, Richard Morantz, are both life-long avid Blue Bomber supporters and season ticket members.

The Board also announced the re-election of Robinson and Waddell for their second term on the Board, while Vice Chair Gamey retired from the Board effective January 1, 2024. “We thank Barb for her commitment to the Winnipeg Football Club, years of service, and leadership of the Football Club’s annual gala dinner,” said Board Chair Mike Pyle. “Barb has served on the Club’s Board of Directors since January 1, 2016 and has had a tremendous impact on the Club’s community endeavors.”
