Bombers 2014 Pink Game

For the fifth year in a row, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are supporting Manitoba breast cancer patients and the Keeping Abreast Fund at the Health Sciences Centre Foundation through the CFL’s annual pink campaign.

October is pink month in the CFL, and each team will host a “pink game”; when the Blue Bombers host the Calgary Stampeders on Saturday, October 18th at 6:00pm at Investors Group Field, all players from both teams (along with coaches and officials) will wear pink themed items on the field.

Then, in November, the CFL will auction off the full pink game kit (jersey, pants, gloves, etc.) from one player on each CFL team, with proceeds going toward breast cancer research.   Defensive Back Demond Washington is the Bombers player whose kit will be part of that auction.

Fans can show their support for the fight against breast cancer by purchasing pink themed items at the Bomber Store at Investors Group Field.  Volunteers from the Keeping Abreast Fund will also be in the stands at the October 18th game, selling pink merchandise.  A portion of the proceeds from the sale of all pink gear will go to Keeping Abreast.  Pink gear will also be for sale at Tailgate at the Plaza (located at Gate 2, opening 2.5 hours before kickoff.)
