Bombers add Stanton, Patrick

WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed International defensive end Jordan Stanton and International defensive back Johnny Patrick.

Stanton (6-4, 260, James Madison, April 11, 1991 in Fairfax, VA) most recently was on the New York Giants practice roster after signing with the club as an undrafted free agent in 2014. Stanton played four seasons at James Madison, starting 28 of his 45 games, and finishing with 131 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, and 13.5 quarterback sacks.

Patrick (5-11, 190, Louisville, August 17, 1988 in DeLand, FL) was originally selected  in the third round, 88th overall in the 2011 NFL Draft by New Orleans. After playing in 24 games with the Saints over two seasons, he was signed by San Diego in 2013, where he played in 13 games and started four. Patrick also spent time with the New York Jets in 2014. He has totalled 62 tackles, 1.5 sacks, one interception and one forced fumble throughout his NFL career.
In four seasons at Louisville, Patrick recorded 171 tackles (136 solo), one sack, nine interceptions, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. As a senior, he was an All-Big East Conference first-team selection.
