Bombers add two DBs to roster

WINNIPEG, MB., January 16, 2019 –  The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed international defensive backs Amari Coleman and Tyneil Cooper.

Coleman (5’11, 188, Central Michigan, October 9, 1996 in Flint, MI) played three seasons with the Central Michigan Chippewas, totalling 142 tackles, eight interceptions, two forced fumbles and 38 pass deflections in 47 games. In 2016, Coleman shared the award for CMU’s Defensive Player of the Year. In 2018, Coleman signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent.

Cooper (5’9, 180, Dixie State University, January 24, 1995 in Providence, RI) returns to the Blue Bombers after spending the 2018 season with the club. He made 13 total tackles in five games last season.  Cooper played his junior year at Dixie State University, starting in nine games. Cooper earned All-RMAC first-team defense honors with 33 tackles and nine pass breakups with Dixie State in 2016.
