WINNIPEG, MB., November 20, 2017 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has re-signed national safety Derek Jones to a two-year deal.
Jones will be entering his fifth CFL season with Winnipeg in 2018. After originally being drafted in the 2014 CFL Draft, he has now played in 72 career games. In 2017, Jones recorded eleven special teams tackles, eight defensive tackles and one quarterback sack in regular season games as well as one sack in the West Semi-Final. A key special teams player, Jones has recorded six career blocked punts, including two in 2017, and 39 career special teams tackles.
