Grey Cup Festival Flag Football

Sixty-two youth from Champlain and Norquay schools in Winnipeg have learned the fundamentals of flag football, after completing an eight week program delivered by the 103rd Grey Cup Festival. The program was supported with a grant from RBC’s Learn to Play program, along with the Grey Cup Festival and Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities.

“We’re proud to bring flag football to children who may not otherwise have had a chance to experience a skill-building clinic like this,” said Jason Smith, President, 103rd Grey Cup Festival.

On Thursday, the participants were also some of the 300 children invited to take part in the MacDon Fan Experience & Family Fun Zone at the University of Winnipeg’s United Health & RecPlex.
