2025: Blue Bombers
The Blue Bombers signed Sheahan to a one-year contract extension on January 19, 2026 after a steady 2025 campaign with the club.
Sheahan returns in 2026 for his fourth season with the Blue Bombers and he has served as the club’s punter in every game over that span. In addition, working with long-snapper Ian Leroux, Sheahan is the holder on field goals and converts for placekicker Sergio Castillo.
Sheahan finished 2025 with a punting average of 47.8 yards on 94 punts and a net (minus the opponent’s return) of 38.4 yards.
His 47.8-yard average was the second highest in Blue Bombers history to Jon Ryan’s 50.6 average in 2005. In the battle for field position, he kicked just two singles in 2025 while placing nine punts inside the opponent’s 10-yard line.
2024: Blue Bombers
Sheahan continued to be a steady contributor in his second year with the Blue Bombers and was the team’s punter for all 18 regular-season games plus the two playoff contests.
Sheahan finished the year with a 44.4-yard punting average and placed two kicks inside the opponent’s 10-yard line. He was the CFL’s only punter not to punt for a single as he continued to stress field position with the placement of his kicks while sacrificing average.
The Blue Bombers net average of 36.4 yards ranked seventh in the CFL.
2023: Blue Bombers
Sheahan was selected eighth overall by the Blue Bombers in the 2023 CFL Global Draft and earned the punting chores in training camp en route to being named the team’s Most Outstanding Rookie Player.
He has posted a 46.3-yard punting average this season and has dropped nine kicks inside the opponents’ 10-yard line – tied for second most in the CFL and a remarkable number given he has accomplished that feat by punting 30-40 times less than the league leaders. Sheahan was also the team’s holder on placekicks.
College/Pro
A product of Bendigo, Australia, Sheahan began playing Aussie rules football with the Essendon Bombers in the Australian Football League. He earned a scholarship at the University of California through ProKick Australia and has two degrees, including a Masters in Education.
