Director of Football Operations

Matt Gulakow is entering his 12th year with the the Bombers in 2026 and sixth as the club’s Director of Football Operations. He is also now heading into his second season playing a greater role in the club’s scouting and preparation for the CFL Draft.

Gulakow began working with the Bombers in May of 2015 as the Team Services Coordinator, helping plan road trips, assisting players in their transition to living in Winnipeg and other administrative duties while also aiding in the planning for the 2015 Grey Cup.

In his current role, Gulakow has played a key part in the club’s recent success that included five consecutive trips to the Grey Cup from 2019-24 with championships in 2019 and 2021 and nine straight double-digit win seasons. He is responsible for all football operations logistics, including team travel, training camp and immigration. He works closely with GM Kyle Walters and is responsible for the preparation, submission and in registration of player contracts and daily roster transactions, while also supporting all levels of  the football operations department with administrative needs.

Born in Winnipeg, Gulakow attended Collège Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau before graduating from Concordia University in 2015. He also played football with the Concordia Stingers during the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
