Lynn Bishop

Born in Carman before later moving to Selkirk, Lynn Bishop has been a lifelong Blue Bombers fan. That fandom dates all the way back to the days Buddy Tinsley and other players would visit the Ford dealership in town – the owners were friends of the Bishop family – and then scrimmage with local kids in the back yard.
Years later he joined the Winnipeg Football Club Board of Directors in 1992 and became part of the Executive Committee a year later before becoming the team’s president in 1996.
Those were not easy years for the Blue Bombers and the Canadian Football League, but Bishop and the club’s executive helped guide the team through some difficult financial times.
Critical to the franchise’s survival was the launch of the ‘Third and Long’
business plan which pushed for a bigger season-ticket base while implementing a refinancing plan.
The club also began several capital projects at Canad Inns Stadium under Bishop’s watch, including the construction of new administration and player facilities, dressing room improvements. theatre-type seating, the installation of an electronic scoreboard, new artificial turf, and a new Bomber store.
Bishop was a commercial float plane pilot in his youth, has an Economics degree from the University of Manitoba and spent years working in the aviation industry, including a period as the general manager of the Winnipeg International Airport.
