Bombers Add Three to Roster

WINNIPEG, MB., December 29, 2017 –   The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed International defensive backs Travis Howard and Sam Brown, and International defensive tackle Daniel Awoleke.

Howard (6-1, 200, Ohio State University, November 24, 1989 in Miami, FL) played four seasons with the Ohio Buckeyes playing in 43 games and starting 23 times. In his senior season, he was an All-Big Ten Conference selection and lead the league with four interceptions. He had 96 total tackles and eight interceptions in his collegiate career.

Howard has spent time with the Houston Texans, New York Giants, and Atlanta Falcons after going undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Brown (6-1, 175, Missouri Western State University, July 30, 1992 in St. Louis, MO) played four seasons with the Griffons playing in 45 career games and starting 22 times. In his collegiate career, he recorded 123 total tackles and made six interceptions.

Brown was waived by the Minnesota Vikings this September.

Awoleke (6-5, 295, University of Southern Florida, April 30, 1992 in Queens, NY) spent four seasons with the Bulls and appeared in 26 career games recording 58 total tackles and four sacks. This past season, he was in the Montreal Alouettes’ training camp.
