2024: Blue Bombers

Griffin signed with the Blue Bombers on May 18, 2024, three days after he had been released by the Stampeders and it proved to be a shrewd pick up by the team. Griffin dressed for 15 games plus both playoff contests and finished with 40 total tackles — 24 on defence and 16 on special teams, which was tied for second-most on the club — while adding one quarterback sack.

2023: Calgary Stampeders

Griffin played in 13 games with Calgary in 2023 — including four starts — registering 29 defensive tackles, adding six more on special teams while adding a touchdown after recovering a punt in a win over Toronto last August. He showed his versatility by starting two games at the Dime spot, one at safety and other other at field halfback. He recorded 11 tackles and a sack in his first start and then suffered a knee injury in the Labour Day Classic before returning to the regular-season finale against Winnipeg, picking up eight tackles in that game, and then starting in the Western Semi-Final loss to the B.C. Lions.

Pro/College:

Griffing first turned pro in 2022 as an undrafted signing by the Tennessee Titans after three seasons (2019-21) at South Dakota State. In 39 career games including 37 starts for the Jackrabbits, he recorded 159 total tackles including 1.5 tackles for loss. Griffin also had seven interceptions that he returned for a total of 77 yards, eight pass breakups and two fumble recoveries. In 2019, he was named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference’s all-newcomer team.

Griffin started his collegiate career with 20 games over two seasons (2016-17) at Southwest Minnesota State. In his second season with the Mustangs, he started all 11 games and was second on the team with 85 tackles.
