2025: Blue Bombers

The Blue Bombers selecting Smith in the second round, 15th overall, of the 2025 CFL Draft and he followed that with a superb rookie season.

Smith appeared in all 18 regular-season games and the Eastern Semi-Final in 2025 and finished second on the team with 22 special teams tackles — one shy of Michael Ayers, who had 23. Smith’s 22 tackles on specials also tied him for fourth place in the entire league. He added three tackles on defence and one fumble recovery as well.

College:

Smith appeared in 52 games during his career at North Texas (2021024) and over that span recorded 160 tackles (75 solo, 85 assisted), two interceptions, 12.5 tackles-for-loss, four knockdowns and one forced fumble.

Smith started all 13 games as a senior in 2024, recording 106 tackles (44 solo, 62 assisted), one interception, 7.5 tackles-for-loss and three knockdowns. After the season, he was selected to the DCTF Second Team All-Texas and earned Third Team All-AAC honours. Smith finished the regular season third in the AAC in tackles while leading the team in tackles.
