Speller continued his transformation into a reliable starter along the offensive in in 2019, dressing for 13 games in the regular-season and starting eight at guard, and then starting the three playoff games at centre for an injured Michael Couture. He was part of a unit that led the CFL in rushing and helped Andrew Harris capture a third-straight rushing title.
Speller dressed for two games in 2018, making his CFL debut against Saskatchewan in the Banjo Bowl and then being promoted to the active roster for the regular-season finale vs. Edmonton.
Speller spent five years with the McMaster Marauders. He was selected to participate in the 2016 CIS East-West Bowl and was signed by the Bombers as undrafted free agent.
