2025: Blue Bombers

The Blue Bombers signed Lawson to a two-year contract extension on December 10, 2025 after a solid campaign for the veteran defensive tackle.

After suffering a season-ending knee injury in 2024, Lawson bounced back in 2025, dressing for 16 games (six of them starts) and registering 21 defensive tackles, one sack and one forced fumble.

Lawson has now dressed for 53 career CFL games, four with the Alouettes and 49 with the Blue Bombers, and has 41 career defensive tackles, seven sacks, an interception, and a forced fumble.

2024: Blue Bombers

Lawson suffered a season-ending knee injury in a preseason game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in May and spent the year rehabbing after surgery.

2023: Blue Bombers

Lawson signed a two-year contract extension with the Blue Bombers on December 22, 2023, after he put together a solid season that flashed his still-blossoming potential.
Getting more work in a rotational role at the defensive tackle position, Lawson played in 15 regular season games plus the Western Final and Grey Cup and recorded a career-high five sacks — tied for third most on the team — while adding eight tackles and an interception.

2022: Blue Bombers

Lawson was acquired by the Blue Bombers from the Alouettes on May 3, 2022. Winnipeg sent its first and second-round picks, 9^th and 18^th overall, to Montreal for Lawson and the 13^th overall selection.
Lawson dressed for every game last year, including the playoffs, and registered 12 tackles, his first career sack and two tackles for a loss.

2021: Montreal Alouettes

Lawson was drafted by the Alouettes in the second round, 16^th overall, in the 2020 CFL Draft. He appeared in four games with Montreal in 2021, his rookie season, and was the club’s inactive player for the other 14 games and the playoffs.

College

Lawson was a two-time OUA Second-Team All-Star at Queen’s University, selected to that squad in both 2017 and 2018. He had 29 tackles, four sacks and 7.5 tackles for a loss in 2018 and 21 tackles, 3.5 sacks, five tackles for a loss and one fumble recovery in 2017.
