Running Backs Coach

Jason Hogan returns in 2024 for his third season with the Blue Bombers staff as the running backs coach.

The Blue Bombers offence has been the CFL’s most prolific over the last two years and in 2023 running back Brady Oliveira captured his first career league rushing title.

Winnipeg led the league in offensive points (31.7), touchdowns (62), net offence (414.7) and in rushing (139.1) yards per game.

The rushing totals enjoyed a bump in 2023, improving by over 20 yards from the 113.5 average in 2002. The 2022 season also saw Oliveira take over as the team’s feature back and rush for the first 1,000-yard campaign of his career.

Hogan came to the Blue Bombers in 2022 after serving as the assistant offensive coordinator, running backs and wide receiver coach with the Université de Montréal Carabins after originally joining the staff in 2018 as quarterbacks coach.

Previous to his days with the Carabins, Hogan spent two years with the Montréal Alouettes, beginning as an offensive quality control coach and then serving as defensive assistant/receivers coach.

Hogan was also the program coordinator of the junior varsity and varsity teams at École secondaire Curé-Antoine-Labelle Loups as well as offensive coordinator for the varsity team.

Hogan also previously worked for the Alouettes as a youth football program coordinator, where he helped organize the Anthony Calvillo Leadership Academy for Quarterbacks as well as serving as the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach at College André-Grasset.

Hogan was a member of the Université de Laval Rouge et Or’s Vanier Cup win in 2006.
