Welcome to the Bears Football Club!

In 2025, Winnipeg Football Club launched a brand new club in the Manitoba Minor Football Association. The team played in the U14 Division and was fully supported by the Winnipeg Football Club. Led by certified amateur football coaches, the team practiced at Elmwood High School.

Our team’s mission is to empower student-athletes by providing an inclusive pathway into football and fostering essential life skills through teamwork, leadership, and character development. We hope to create opportunities for athletes who might otherwise not have access to organized sports, helping them develop both athletic abilities and core values that extend beyond the field.

In its first year, the club put together and covered registration fees for a roster of 40 athletes who had no prior association with a current Manitoba Minor Football Association club.

The Bears Football Club prides itself on three main pillars in developing young athletes.

Character Through Discipline

Building respect, accountability, and personal responsibility both on and off the field.

  1. Self-discipline in training and practice habits
  2. Respect for coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials
  3. Maintaining academic standards as student-athletes
  4. Understanding that actions have consequences
  5. Taking pride in uniform, equipment, and facilities

Growth Through Commitment

Developing a mindset focused on continuous improvement and resilience.

    1. Setting and tracking personal and team goals
    2. Learning from mistakes rather than fearing them
    3. Understanding that improvement comes from consistent effort
    4. Developing leadership skills at all levels
    5. Building mental toughness through challenging situations

Creating a family atmosphere where every player feels valued and supported.
