Jim Russell

Inducted: 1985

Jim Russell served as club president in 1956-57 and is widely regarded as the man who saw the potential in Bud Grant, then a player with the Bombers, to serve as the team’s head coach. It was one of the wisest decisions ever made by a Bomber executive as Grant, named head coach in 1957, would turn the club into a powerhouse, winning four Grey Cups from 1958-62.
