Member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame (Inducted 1963)
Originally from England, Hannibal moved to Canada at the age of nine. He served in World War I, rising to the rank of major and, upon his return to Canada, began working in Toronto with the Canada Company. Transferred to Winnipeg in 1930, he began working with the Winnipeg Rugby Football Club and became president in 1935 – the year of the franchise’s first Grey Cup title – and upon his induction into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame was described as ‘one of the great builders of Western Canadian football.’
