Blue Bombers transactions: October 5, 2022

WINNIPEG, MB., October 5, 2022 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed American defensive back Desmond Lawrence to the practice roster.

Lawrence (6-1, 185, North Carolina; born: November 30, 1994, in Charlotte, NC) joins the Blue Bombers after spending the last year-and-a-half with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The defensive back has appeared in 15 CFL games registering 26 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 1 sack. In 2021, Lawrence was named the Ti-Cats’ nominee for the CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie Award.

Lawrence played college football at North Carolina, playing in 47 games and registering 178 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 1.5 sacks. Lawrence would go on to spend time with the Detroit Lions of the NFL, the Atlanta Legends of the AAF, and the DC Defenders of the XFL before coming to the CFL.
