Blue Bombers transactions: February 16, 2022
WINNIPEG, MB., February 16, 2022 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed American defensive back Jermaine Ponder.
Ponder (6-2, 200, Saint Francis, January 9, 1995 in Rochester, NY) originally signed with the Cleveland Browns after his senior season of 2018. He went on to participate in training camps with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans. Ponder was named second-team all-Northeast Conference after his senior season in 2018. He set a St. Francis record with 16 passes defended (15 pass breakups and one interception). Those totals led the Northeast Conference and ranked fifth in the Football Championship Subdivision.
