Bombers Visit Schools for Pink Day

WINNIPEG, MB., April 10, 2018 –  Winnipeg Blue Bombers Matthias Goossen, Thomas Miles and John Rush will visit seven schools this week and present to more than 1,400 students on the importance of healthy relationships in light of Canadian Red Cross Pink Day.

Younger students will receive Bombers Tackle Bullying presentations in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross, while high school students will participate in Break the Silence on Violence Against Women seminars.

“We are extremely proud of this program and of our players for lending their support to this initiative,” said Winnipeg Blue Bombers President & CEO, Wade Miller.

Break the Silence on Violence Against Women is supported through Status of Women’s Canada Women’s Program and in partnership with Manitoba Status of Women. This year, players will have presented to more than 5,000 students in communities such as Snow Lake, Berens River, Brokenhead Ojibway First Nation and here in Winnipeg. Schools receiving presentations this week include River East and Kildonan Collegiate. Both programs are offered at no cost to schools.
