Bombers add DT Corvey Irvin

WINNIPEG, MB., March 13, 2016 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed International defensive tackle Corvey Irvin.

Irvin (6-2, 295, Georgia, May 3, 1985 in Augusta, GA) spent last season with Saskatchewan where the Georgia Bulldogs product started all 18 games, recording 27 defensive tackles and five sacks. Irvin came into the league in 2015 with Montreal, playing in 13 games and registering 11 defensive tackles, three sacks and one forced fumble.

He spent parts of five seasons in the NFL after originally being selected by the Carolina Panthers in the third round (93rd overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft. Irvin played 24 games during that span, spending time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions.
