He Wore It Well: Donald Smith, 1992-94

Smith wasn’t here long but he was a dominant corner during his days as a Bomber. A product of Liberty University, Smith came to Winnipeg after being drafted by the Minnesota Vikings and a stint with the Dallas Cowboys. He had 11 interceptions in two years with the Bombers before heading south with the U.S. expansion to sign with the Memphis MadDogs. Smith moved on to the Toronto Argonauts and then the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, winning two Grey Cups with the Boatmen in 1996 and 1997.

FYI:

Harry Fitzgibbons played for the Bombers and, like so many, then gave back to the game as a coach with the Norwood/St Boniface Legionaires and the Winnipeg Rams, both teams winning Intermediate Football Championships (the Legionaires in 1952, the Rams in 1956).
