He Wore It Well:

Trevor Kennerd, K, 1980-91

He retired as the Bombers all-time leading scorer with 1.840 points (since passed by the man who followed him, Troy Westwood) after 12 seasons. Initially signed as a free agent after a college career at the University of Alberta, Kennerd would crack the 100-point mark in 11 of his 12 seasons.

FYI:

Kennerd now runs his own marketing firm, TKM Inc., and is an Honourary Colonel for 435 Transport and Rescue Squadron at 17 Wing Winnipeg… Thiadric Hansen was the first player taken by the Bombers, second overall, in the CFL’s first European Draft in April of 2019 as part of the CFL 2.0 initiative to grow the game globally.

Notable:

  • Keith Stokes played his last CFL game with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2008, but is still playing football. Since then he has played with the Elancourt Templiers, a French team, in 2009, the Harrisburg Stampede (2010), Philadelphia Soul (2011), Lehigh Valley Steelhawks and Reading Express (2012), York Capitals (2013-15), Pennsylvania Steam (2014) and Central Penn Capitals (2016).
  • Thiadric Hansen became the first Global player to suit up for the Blue Bombers in 2019 as part of the CFL’s 2.0 initiative to help grow the game worldwide. Hansen, a German product, became a valuable contributor on special teams while growing into an defensive rotational player along the defensive line.
