WINNIPEG, MB., May 24, 2016 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the signing of the club’s first pick (second round, 9th overall) in the 2016 CFL Draft, defensive end Trent Corney.
Corney (6-3, 255, Virginia, born in Brockville, Ont.) played 34 games over four seasons with the Cavaliers. He racked up 51 tackles over that span and notched four sacks as well. Corney showed tremendous ability to create negative plays, making nine stops for a loss as a senior.
With the signing of Corney, the club has now inked all of their 2016 CFL Draft selections.
