Bombers Break the Silence on violence against women

WINNIPEG, MB.  The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will kick off their brand new Break the Silence on Violence against Women program on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Elmwood High School.

Matt Bucknor and Matthias Goossen will lead a discussion with 400 students, the first of 120 presentations the Bombers have committed to lead over three years. The program is delivered by Bombers players in partnership with Status of Women Canada and Manitoba Status of Women.

“For years, violence against women has been an issue championed by women,” said Hannah Rose Pratt, Manager of Community Relations for the Winnipeg Football Club. “We’re so proud of our players who stepped up as ambassadors for this program in our community.”

The Bombers have scheduled more than 16 assemblies and targeted workshops for high school aged youth in Winnipeg for the spring of this year.
