Henoc Muamba Most Outstanding Canadian CFL East Division

The Canadian Football League announced today the 2013 Gibson’s Finest Most Outstanding Players for the East and West Divisions and they included a record number of Canadians. A total of seven Canadian players were honoured for eight most outstanding player awards, the most in league history. The East and West Player Award winners were selected by 77 voters, including members of the Football Reporters of Canada (FRC) and CFL head coaches. With that, Blue Bomber linebacker Henoc Muamba was voted Most Outstanding Canadian in the CFL’s East Division.

Muamba enjoyed a breakout season in 2013, playing in all 18 games. The St. Francis Xavier product, who was chosen first overall in the 2011 CFL Draft, has racked up 106 tackles, 18 special teams tackles, one sack and one interception in 2013. His 106 defensive tackles were second overall in the CFL. This is Muamba’s first nomination for a league award.
