Blue Bombers announce seven-year extension with CJOB 680 for radio broadcast rights

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers, in conjunction with Corus Entertainment, are pleased to announce today they have extended their agreement to continue as the radio broadcast rights holder for the Blue Bombers on CJOB 680.

“The Winnipeg Football Club is very thrilled to have extended our agreement with Corus Entertainment. CJOB has been the voice of sport in this province for decades, and we’re excited to inform our fans that Blue Bomber football on your radio can only be found on CJOB 680 for years to come,” said Jim Bell, President, Winnipeg Blue Bombers. “The seven-year commitment demonstrates CJOB’s long-term desire to be a part of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.”

“CJOB 680 is honoured to be the home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in Manitoba for most of the last five decades. Nothing stirs the passion of sports fans like the Blue Bombers and we are thrilled to continue to be the voice of this storied franchise for the next seven years,” said Garth Buchko, General Manager, CJOB 680. “There is currently a tremendous amount of excitement about the Blue Bombers both on and off the field, and CJOB/Corus Entertainment look forward to the added excitement that will come with the opening of a new home for the team next season. CJOB 680 would like to thank the Winnipeg Football Club’s Board of Directors, management and staff for their commitment to a great partnership, both past and present. Currently, in addition to game days, CJOB 680 is also home to the Buck Pierce Show (Tuesday’s at 7:00 p.m., the Coach Paul LaPolice Show (Monday’s at 7:00 p.m.), and the Doug Brown Spin Zone (Monday’s at 8:00 p.m.). Blue Bomber football on CJOB is led by award-winning, CFL Hall of Famer and Voice of the Blue Bombers, Bob Irving, who has been covering the team for nearly four decades. CJOB 680 would also like to take this time to announce that Irving has agreed to a long-term extension to continue as the voice of the Blue Bombers on CJOB 680.
