Blue Bombers will surpass single season club attendance record Friday

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are set to surpass another milestone in attendance this Friday, when they host the Toronto Argonauts in the final regular season game at Canad Inns Stadium.

Currently sitting at 236,257 after the first eight regular season home games, the Blue Bombers will surpass the club record for single-season attendance this week with every fan over 16,545 to enter Canad Inns Stadium. This will also be the first year in club history to surpass the 260,000 mark in attendance in one season. The Bombers have averaged 29,532 fans per game this season which is almost 800 more than the previous record of 28,739 set in 1985.

“We continue to be positively overwhelmed with the support of our fans throughout this season. Six consecutive sell-outs, closing in on seven, record number of season tickets sold and the atmosphere inside our stadium on game day; this has all contributed to show that we are home to the greatest football fans in the country,” said Blue Bomber President Jim Bell. “There is a lot to look forward to as we head down the stretch and into the postseason, and of course 2012 as well with our new facility. It’s an exciting time to be a fan of the Blue Bombers.”

Tickets are still available for Friday’s game by contacting Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.ca or by calling 1-855-Bombers.
