Blue Bombers prepare for final regular season game at Canad Inns Stadium

Fresh off their stunning come from behind victory over the Montreal Alouettes on Saturday afternoon, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are preparing to host their final regular season game ever at Canad Inns Stadium this Friday, October 28th at 7pm against the Toronto Argonauts.  Since the stadium opened in 1953, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are 310-183-4 during the regular season at home, for a .629 winning percentage.

Canad Inns Stadium (formerly known as Winnipeg Stadium) has been home to the Blue and Gold for 58 seasons, been the site of three Grey Cup games, hosted the 1967 and 1999 Pan Am Games and has held massive concerts from the Rolling Stones, to AC/DC to most recently, U2.

The Winnipeg Football Club is honouring this monumental occasion by having invited all of its past alumni to the game, including Milt Stegall, in order to truly send off the stadium in style.  Fans are encouraged to get to the stadium early as they won’t want to miss out on any of the planned events.  At halftime, a nine-minute video tribute produced by Neuman Films on the history of the stadium will be shown on the jumbotron.

Upon entry, each and every fan will receive “The Last Ticket”, a special commemorative ticket that celebrates the final regular season game and gives fans a keepsake to cherish for years to come.  Each of the tickets are numbered and fans will have the opportunity to visit www.cjob.com where they can enter the “Last Ticket Contest” where the winner will walk away with a Blue Bomber prize pack valued at over $500.  Fans can also visit the Bomber Store for options on how to frame their ticket to ensure this memory lasts a lifetime.

The Blue Bombers will have two honourary captains present at the game: Anna King, the sister of Blue Bomber legend Jack Jacobs, and Tyler Livingston, the eldest son of 2012 CFL Hall of Fame inductee, Tyrone Jones.

Jacobs and Jones were fan favourites both on and off the field during their playing days in Winnipeg and to have their family members in attendance on Friday is special for the organization and its fans.

There will be a special scheduled fly-by from members of the Snow Birds moments before kickoff as well as a fireworks display following the game sponsored by Archangel Fireworks.

Fans are encouraged to bring a new unwrapped toy in support of the Toy Mountain Drive which helps Salvation Army deliver the toys during the Holiday season.  The program is in association with the Winnipeg Firefighters and drop-off bins will be located at every gate.

On Saturday, October 29th, the Blue Bomber alumni will be holding an autograph session from 1pm-4pm at the Bomber Store.

There are less than 3,000 tickets remaining for this historic game.  Fans can purchase them by visiting www.ticketmaster.ca or by calling 1-855-BOMBERS.
