ACQUIRED – The Blue Bombers signed Smith as a free agent on February 27, 2009.
2009 (WPG) – Smith’s first playing season in the CFL saw him get action in 16 regular season games. The California native racked up 47 tackles and eight quarterback sacks, while also recovering a fumble in 2009. Smith’s best game came July 24, 2009 vs Toronto (19-5L) when he sacked Kerry Joseph three times and had four defensive tackles.
2008 (WPG) – Smith spent three weeks on Winnipeg’s practice roster last season.
COLLEGE – Smith played his college football with the Oregon State Beavers. He was a starter in his senior season in 2007. Smith spent two seasons at Oregon State where he earned All-Pac 10 Conference first-team honors as a senior. He finished his career with 72 tackles (49 solo) and 15 sacks for 129 yards.
