DONATE NOW to Cuts for Cancer!

Blue Bombers linebacker Graig Newman is tackling a cause close to his heart this month.

This Summer during the Blue Bombers season, Graig’s childhood friend Cody Smuk passed away at the age of 25 after his battle with cancer. Graig also lost an uncle and a grandmother before he had the chance to meet them.

After growing his hair all season, Graig is getting ready to donate it to Locks of Love, a charity that provides wigs for children and patients living with cancer, and other illnesses that produce hair loss.

“Throughout my life I have seen triumphs over cancer, but also witnessed the emptiness it can leave,” said Graig. “Everyone has been or will be connected to cancer.”

Graig hopes Cuts for Cancer will increase awareness and raise funds for children and their families whose lives have changed from encounters with cancer or any serious life-threatening or life-altering diseases. The Dream Factory

How can you get involved? Graig is fundraising for The Dream Factory, a charity dedicated to fulfilling dreams for children with life-threatening illnesses. Money raised as part of the Graig Newman Cuts for Cancer campaign will go toward fulfilling a dream for William (pictured on the right).

William is a 7-year-old boy who is bravely battling childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia. His dream is to visit Disney World to see Lightning McQueen from Cars. Click the link above to help make William’s dream come true!

Come out to support Graig in his cause when a hairstylist from HairFx cuts Graig’s hair! Visit the CFL Community Tent in the tailgate area at Investors Group Field at 3:30 p.m. before the big game on November 29th and cheer Graig on! The Dream Factory will be on site to collect cash donations. Note: this is a ticketed area.
