The Winnipeg Football Club is pleased to announce it has set a record number of season tickets sold, currently sitting at 22,050 and counting as of Friday morning, May 25, 2012. This shatters the previous season ticket mark of 21,155 set in 2011, with just under a month still available for fans to purchase season tickets.
“This is really just a tremendous accomplishment by not only our organization, but all of our great fans across Manitoba. Our brand has never been stronger and with so many great things on the horizon for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, it is such a great time to be involved with the Winnipeg Football Club,” said President and CEO Garth Buchko.
“I would like to inform all of our fans that general sale for season tickets will commence on Monday, May 28th at 3:00 p.m., and we encourage everyone who is currently not a season ticket holder to join us in the stands for what will be some of the most exciting times in franchise history,” said Buchko.
The Blue Bombers would like to advise fans that single game tickets will be on sale beginning Friday, June 8. Please note, single game tickets are only available for the first five games (including preseason) and does not include the Banjo Bowl against the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday, September 9, a potential opening date for Investors Group Field.
“All of our fans are encouraged – if they want to attend the Banjo Bowl – to purchase season tickets, as single game tickets are not yet available for the Banjo Bowl,” said Buchko.
The annual Banjo Bowl has been sold out eight straight years, since its inauguration in 2004.
There are many great seats still available, including the Family Zone (sections 116-121). General sale for season tickets begins Monday, May 28 and fans can purchase them at the Bomber office Tuesday through Friday next week from 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m and beginning on Monday, May 28 at 3:30pm. or by calling 204-784-7448. Please note, due to the amount of incoming calls to the Blue Bomber office, the organization encourages fans to come down to the Bomber office at Canad Inns Stadium to purchase their tickets if possible. Season tickets start as low as $197.00.
