He Wore It Well:

Steve Buchko, T, 1945-46

Steve Buchko joined the Bombers right out of high school in Winnipeg as a 19-year old as the club formed again after World War II. After his playing days, Buchko was a master patternmaker in the tool and dye industry and served as the secretary/treasurer of the Manitoba branch of the American Foundrymen’s Association.

He was active in the Blue Bombers Alumni Association until his passing in July of 2016.

FYI:

Corey Jenkins played only nine games with the Bombers in 2007, starting eight, but his story was nonetheless fascinating. A sixth-round draft pick of the Miami Dolphins in 2003, he came to the CFL after stints with the Fish, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers and Carolina Panthers. Jenkins had also been a first-round draft pick of the Boston Red Sox in 1995 and spent four years in the minor leagues before turning his attention to football.
