He Wore It Well:

Eddie Kushner – G, T, 1933-40

Eddie Kushner was part of the Winnipeg Football Club’s early days, joining the team in 1933 after playing junior ball with the Winnipeg Native Sons. He was part of the ‘Winnipegs’ team that was the first to win from Western Canada to win the Grey Cup in 1935 and again part of the 1939 championship team, known then as the Blue Bombers.

His playing days ended in 1940 with the outbreak of World War II, and he served as a Chief Petty Officer in the Canadian Navy.

Notable:

We pointed this out at the #15, but After his playing days, Bud Irving turned to officiating, working junior and intermediate games and then as a CFL official, retiring his whistle after working the 1960 Grey Cup game.
