WINNIPEG, MB., January 9, 2017 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has inked national linebacker Akeem Whonder.
Whonder (5-11, 224, Windsor, born in Mississauga, ON) played five years with the Lancers, the last of which saw him post 53 tackles, two sacks, and an interception. Those numbers were good enough to earn him an Ontario University Athletics all-star nod. In his five seasons he totaled 175 tackles and eight sacks. Whonder has spent time in camp with the Stampeders and the Argos.
