Rookie Camp Journal – Day 3

Trent Corney’s Rookie Camp Journal

I got a tour of Winnipeg last night and did some sightseeing. That bridge downtown is really unique and the restaurant on it looks cool. I liked the downtown because of the mix of architecture.

Attachment-1We went down Wellington Crescent and there was one house near the end that had a really interesting design that stood out to me. It was good to get out and see some of the city like that.

I thought I improved a lot during rookie camp. I’m still not sure about what happens next, about how many guys they are going to be keeping and stuff like that. Saturday is the medical day and we have some meetings. All the veterans have been coming in today.

I guess we’ve got about 24 hours to hang out now. I’m going to take a nap, get a lift in, rest and get my mind right.

I’ve got some anxiety about Sunday and the first day. I just want to get to know everybody and know who my teammates are going to be. I want to find out who my friends are going to be… hopefully I can find some meatheads like me who will want to hang out with me.

Defensive end Trent Corney was the Bombers first pick, 9th overall, in the 2016 CFL Draft. A product of Brockville, Ont., he played his college ball at the University of Virginia.

Bluebombers.com will chronicle Corney’s daily battles through training camp, from the highs and on the field to the  transition from the college to the pro game.
