WINNIPEG, MB., May 25, 2016 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has invited Winnipeg Rifles running back Michael Ritchott to take part in the club’s three day rookie camp, commencing today, Wednesday, May 25 at Investors Group Field. The 5-10, 175 pound running back finished his third season with the Rifles in 2015, playing in eight games and recording 105 rushes for 801 yards and seven touchdowns.
“Much like with Xander, giving the opportunity for a junior football player to come in and see what a training camp is like at this level is a great learning tool,”,” said General Manager Kyle Walters. “From Wade on down, we have made a conscious effort as an organization to engage with junior football in Manitoba, and we hope Michael’s experience during rookie camp is a positive one.”
