The curtain is almost ready to come up on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 2016 season.
The Bombers will open main training camp on Sunday, May 29 at Investors Group Field with the usual collection of returnees and, after an active winter by GM Kyle Walters & Co., a juicy crop of free-agent additions like Andrew Harris, Weston Dressler, Ryan Smith, Justin Medlock, Euclid Cummings, Keith Shologan, Jeff Keeping and Pascal Lochard.
The main camp comes after rookie camp (including quarterbacks) which opens on Wednesday, May 25. Veterans will report on May 27 and then the entire team will be on the field on May 29.
Training camps move quickly, and it won’t be long before those trying to land starting jobs or roster spots will be in action. The Bombers will play two preseason games — Wednesday, June 8 at home against the Montreal Alouettes and Monday, June 13th in Ottawa against the Redblacks.
