Blue Bombers donate $127,500 to Football Manitoba through 50/50

The Winnipeg Football Club has announced today that it has donated $127,500 to Football Manitoba through its 50/50 program from the 2012 season.  Since 2002, the Blue Bombers have donated over 1.2 million dollars to Football Manitoba, supporting amateur football in the province.

“The Football Club prides itself on supporting amateur football at the grassroots level and we are once again happy to help out Football Manitoba and the young athletes and coaches throughout our province with this donation,” said Blue Bomber President and CEO, Garth Buchko.  “Our 50/50 program is very successful at our home games and the generosity of our fans does not go unnoticed.”

With Football registration continuing to climb at record setting highs at all age levels and an expanding female program, the Blue Bombers continue to support player and coach development through Football Manitoba and its programs.

“Through our strong partnership with the Winnipeg Football Club and the funds donated from the 50/50 program, Football Manitoba is able to continue to provide financial support to our member organizations and ensure the viability of our sport in the province,” said Ron East, Executive Director of Football Manitoba.

The Football Club will continue to play a vital role in supporting all amateur football programs and remind players and parents to visit www.footballmanitoba.com for information on everything from football camps to tackle registration.
